I loved this TED Talk for its simple, honest approach to personal branding.
Marcos Salazar cuts through the noise and explains personal brand in a practical, easy-to-understand way. He focuses on what your brand really is, where it shows up, and how to build it in a way that feels true to you, not forced or corporate.

Key Takeaways to Note:

  1. Start with your goal – Ask yourself: "What do I want my personal brand to help me accomplish?" (A new job? A career pivot? Building a business?)

  2. You already have a personal brand – Whether you've shaped it intentionally or not, people already have perceptions of you.

  3. Create a brand that captures who you are – Not just who you are today, but who you'd like to become

  4. Focus on the impact you want to make – Your brand should be about the change you want to create in the world.

  5. It should feel good to YOU first – If your brand feels fake or uncomfortable, it won't be sustainable.

Personal branding isn’t one-size-fits-all, so I’ve shared additional video resources that I personally found helpful and have drawn from in shaping my own personal brand.

I loved how Alex Cattoni explains personal branding through storytelling.
Using superhero-style origin stories (and even her dog), she makes it easier to understand how to talk about who you are, what you value, and the impact you want to have.
